He was married to Jemima Ann HEATH on 2 Apr 1856 in Crawford County, Illinois. To this marriage was born 5 children:
- John Marion, b. 31 Jan 1857, d. 17 Aug 1938. (Married Sarah Catherine MIDGETT).
- James William "Dutch", b. 12 Jan 1859, d. 30 Aug 1904. (Married (1) Mary Catherine MAXWELL and (2) Maud E. or A. ????).
- Sarah Olivia, b. 16 Dec 1861, d. 28 May 1863.
- Randolph, b. 12 Jun 1864, d. 9 Feb 1941/1942. (Married (1) Effie Alma WINEMAN and (2) Emma RASH).
- Henry, b. 12 Feb 1867, d. 22 Aug 1954. (Married Mary BARNES).
There is a Cyntha WEGER, age 8, living with George and Jemima in the 1860 Census below. Who she is remains a mystery. There is a marriage record in Crawford County on 9 Oct 1873 for a Cynthia Ann WEGER to Jonathan WINEMAN. I suspect this may be her as well.

George's first wife, Jemima, died on 6 Nov 1867. He then remarried her sister, Catherine Jane HEATH, on 8 Nov 1868 in Crawford County, Illinois. To this marriage 3 more children were born:
- Nancy Ann, b. 5 Dec 1869, d. 22 Feb 1923. (Married George SMITH).

There is a daughter, Mary Alice HEATH, who is listed as a WEGER in the 1870 Census, however she is a daughter of Catherine Jane HEATH from before their marriage. Her father's name is not known, and it is not know if she was legally adopted by George WEGER after his marriage to Catherine.
